Who is Animal Aid? Animal Aid is non-profit, no-kill, animal rescue and outreach organization serving the Portland Metro area since 1969. Our mission is to reduce animal birth rates and suffering through education, assistance to community members who cannot afford urgent veterinary care, and finding permanent homes for animals (some with special needs) in our care. We house cats in our free-roam shelter and dogs (and a few cats) in loving foster homes. ![]() Animal Aid helps in areas not covered by other tri-county agencies. We are supported primarily through donations which because we are a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization are tax deductible and greatly appreciated.
