Hamlet invites you to help!

|Happy Ending! Hamlet found his forever match and permanent home in June of this year, and both Hamlet and his mom couldn’t be happier about it! It turned out to be the perfect fit for both of them, after a relationship that began with “love at first sight” for Hamlet’s mom, and… for those of you who know Hamlet, more like “love after first bite” for him! |
From this start, Hamlet has blossomed into a most excellent family member! He has been transformed by love into a very calm and loving kitty! As you may remember, Hamlet has special needs as a diabetic kitty with bouts of asthma, but his health is good, and he doesn’t object to receiving his meds at all. Now, that’s a good boy! He spends his weekdays with his 16-year-old stepsister, lounging around, eating great food and listening to jazz radio. There is a lot of great listening at home, and Hamlet especially enjoys artists like Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand and Nat King Cole. Other fun pastimes of his include playing rounds of chase with his mom, playing with toy mice, getting in the middle of any paperwork his mom is trying to do, and meowing for attention and affection – especially around 4:30 a.m.! He is very interested in all that’s going on, and especially likes going nose-to-nose with squirrels through a glass slider door when they are eating peanuts on the deck. So, that’s the Hamlet news for now, except that Hamlet and his mom want you to know that they are extremely grateful to everyone at Animal Aid who took such great care of Hamlet during his two-year stay. If not for you, they couldn’t be living this happily ever after tail!
Forever grateful, Hamlet and Mom
My Name is Hamlet!
My Personality: I enjoy being with people. I will roll on my back and stretch out so that you can pet my tummy and tell me how cute I am. Or give me a chin scratch and I’m all yours.
I have a playful side as well. Just find a toy and we can play for hours.
But I also like my alone time. I prefer sharing your space than cuddling up in your lap, although I’ve been known to sit in a lap or two. Working on your laptop, watching your favorite show, I’ll be right by your side.
My History: I was adopted from Animal Aid 5 years ago. My family returned me to the shelter when they added a baby to the family. Since being back at the shelter I was diagnosed with diabetes. I currently get insulin twice a day but I'm doing well and I'm a real champ with the injections.
My Age: I was born in 2004, so I'm still a young kitty.
My Appearance: I'm a gorgeous declawed kitty with my big green eyes, long white whiskers, tufts of hair in my ears, and fluffy tail. Everyone thinks I'm a Maine Coon mix.
My Videos: Click on the video icon above or click here to see me the first week at Animal Aid. It sure was nice to have someone there to pet me and to tell me everything will be ok.
My Perfect Home: I'm looking for a low-stress home with not too much activity. I probably wouldn't do well with active kids or dogs. Ideally, I'd like a quiet home with someone who wants the perfect companion -- me!
