| Hi! You might have heard of me or even seen me on TV a few months ago. I had my 15 minutes of fame when the HSUS raided an American Eskimo puppy mill where I had been living for the past 6 years. There were over 400 of us that were rescued so you can imagine it's taken quite a while to find homes for all of us. Being out of a cage and not having the smells & sounds of 400 dogs in close quarters has been a real change that I'm still getting used to. In order to survive, I had to shut down my emotions. It's hard to break out of the shell I put up to protect myself, but my foster mom is a gentle soul who promised she would help. I'm looking forward to a life of freedom from having babies. When I was rescued I was infested with every parasite imaginable. I was given veterinary care, spayed and had nine teeth extracted. I also gained weight from 11 pounds to a whopping 17 pounds. I still have a few more pounds to go and my fur should start to grow in well too, now that I've got regular meals and no puppies to feed. The worst is over and the best is yet to be. I have 6 years of love stored up for the compassionate person who is willing to give me a chance at a normal life. Let's share the best years of our lives together! Misty is a small-size female whose estimated birth year is 2003. She is adopted, and is currently living with the adoptive family. Like all of our pets, Misty is current on all vaccinations, has been treated for parasites, and will be microchipped and spayed before going home with the adoptive family. | ||
