Good to Know

  • All adoptable animals receive any necessary veterinary care, are current on all vaccinations, treated for parasites, microchipped and spayed/neutered prior to adoption,
  • CLICK HERE to read about our Adoption Process
  • Not all animals available for adoption live at our shelter – all of the dogs and several of the cats are in foster homes. To meet these animals, please submit an adoption application. Once it has been reviewed you will be contacted to arrange a meeting.
  • Important: Because we do home visits, we rarely adopt out of our local Portland metro area and we never ship an animal.

Meet Lucky at http://www.animalaidpdx.org/pets/displayPet.php?candidateId=665 ~ Rescued from a neglect case with 50 others, Lucky spent months getting the care he needed. Now he’s feeling good and enjoying the sunshine & fresh air that life has to offer. Lucky’s looking for a family to share his second chance, could it be yours?

Maybe you heard about me last year when the county took me and my roommates into custody. We didn't do anything wrong and were actually really happy to get out of the house. I can't believe how wonderful it is to breathe fresh air and feel the sun on my face. I can't remember the last time I was out of the house and not sharing my space or food with 50 other animals.

I spent almost 3 months at the county were they cleaned off years of filth, fed me delicious food and took me in to get neutered and my teeth taken care of. I've only got a couple teeth left, but no matter because now my mouth doesn't hurt and I can eat without pain! I'm free to enjoy life again!

I'm told I am a Chinese Crested PowderPuff mix. PowderPuff means I have hair (not fur) and I'm not hairless like the the Chinese Crested. Now that I've gotten several baths, I think I'm looking pretty good!

Because I had to share my food with 50 other animals I'm a little protective of my meals and do not want to share them. I don't mind sharing a home with other dogs and cats just not my food ;^)I think I'm Lucky because I've got a second chance at life and want to share the happy times with my very own peeps.

I'll be at Western Pet 6908 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Portland, OR 97225 (503) 297-6644 this Saturday 5/19 at 10AM. Stop by and we can get to know each other!

Lucky is a small-size male whose estimated birth year is 2001. He is adopted, and is currently living with the adoptive family.
